About Dr. Kapil Amgain

Dr. Kapil Amgain is working as Associate Professor, Department of Clinical Anatomy & Cell Biology at Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS). Apart from his departmental laboratory work, he has been working as an Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (JKAHS). The JKAHS is an official Journal of Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) which is established in 2018 and published the scientific articles triannually. Besides the editorial task of JKAHS, he has been working as an editor as well as a peer-reviewer of different national as well international journals and contributing to the scientific community to maintain the quality of the research articles.

Starting a scientific journal in one of the remotest districts of the country was a daunting task and full of uncertainties, however, with the hard-working team of editors he has been able to establish the Journal one of the esteemed peer-reviewed journals in the country. His team has set an example that much can be done in the field of research and scientific publication even in a low resource setting if the willpower and dedication is high. Working in an executive position in many open access journals, he can understand the core understanding and practice of open access journals and can bring forth strategic ideas and policies to improve the standard of scientific publication and indexing.
