Authorship Criteria

Authorship Criteria

EJMS follows the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) guidelines for authorship. According to ICMJE guidelines, the credit of authorship should be based only on substantial contributions to each of the following components of the manuscript submitted:

  • substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work;
  • drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content;
  • provide approval for publication of the content;
  • agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

Participation only in the acquisition of funding or the collection of data does not justify the authorship. General supervision of the research group is not sufficient; contributors should have participated sufficiently in the work to take public responsibility for appropriate portions of the content of the manuscript. The order is based on the relative contribution of the contributor towards the study and writing of the manuscript. Once submitted, author(s) cannot be added, and their order cannot be changed. An exception may be made in the case of missing co-author or re-ordering of the co-authors if the corresponding authors provide a valid and convincing justification to the editor-in-chief via email (editor@europasianjournals.org).
